Welcome to Field Notes!
This week I am offering you the film I made to accompany last week’s post on my overnight trip to Blood Mountain in the Blood Mountain Wilderness of North Georgia.
I filmed this with my GoPro Hero 10. The filming process takes a considerable amount of extra work on my trips. Processing the footage is even more difficult. The files require massive storage space. It all has to be ‘optimized’ to be workable on the computer without being jerky and laggy, and my laptop doesn’t have enough storage space. All of this is to say that it could be better, but I am proud of the result.
I’d love some feedback in order to make these films better. This one is just over 12 minutes long. How does that work for you, as a viewer? Too much of me? More still scenes? Let me know! But no, I don’t think I’ll ever speak in the films. I tried filming like that once and it was much too awkward.
The music in this film is from pixabay.com, offering royalty free downloads. I used the following pieces-
Epic Heart (1 min) by Zakhar Valaha
Price of Freedom by Zakhar Valaha
Standing Up Taller by Primalhousemusic
Cinematic Documentary by Aleksey Chistilin
