Welcome to Field Notes!
This is the companion film to last week’s essay on photographing Long Creek Falls. This waterfall is in the Sumter National Forest in South Carolina, adjacent to the Chattooga River. I’ll include a link to the adventure story below.
After the last Field Notes Film I got several comments asking for some speaking in the films. Even just a quote, read as a voiceover. I am sorry, but I must disappoint you. I really did try, with a couple of different methods, but my equipment does not allow for a quality voice recording. I won’t say it will never happen, but it is more than I can provide at the moment.
I believe this film turned out nicely, even without a voiceover. I hope you enjoy it!
Now, lets go!

Hey everyone! I’d love some feedback on Long Creek Falls. If you both read the adventure story and watched the film, how do they compare? Did my writing reflect what you saw in the film? I’m interested to know, so drop me a comment!
Field Notes is entirely reader supported. I could use your help in spreading the word. Forward the email, share the post, tell your friends! It all helps!
