Watching this makes me so impatient! Still over a month to go until the snow melts off the trails up here. We won’t see leaves until May.

Wow, May seems like summertime to me! 😄 It is very up and down in the spring here. It was mid 70's yesterday, but this morning it was below freezing!

LOL May IS summertime to the sane people who aren't Canadian!

I'm with you Tim. We were ALMOST there a week ago and then another huge snow dump.

I loved the film Erik, the video and music choices really capture the spirit of your adventure and I thought the story came through really well. I particularly liked the quote at the beginning and I don't think the video needed any words to enhance it.

It was interesting seeing the film after reading your writing last week. As someone who has never visited these landscapes I thought the film compliment your descriptions really nicely.

Thanks for the feedback Gill! After posting, I was worried I didn't convey the scenery very well. I'm glad you liked it!

You know what I love about your newsletter now? That I hooked up a 32" TV monitor to my laptop lol. Now I get to watch them larger and more beautiful!

Did I miss something in the story part of this video? Why was the forest floor burning but also had a fresh pathway laid down? Was that a controlled burn?

That's awesome that it shows up well on a larger display!! Yes, I'm still developing my writing skills and I didn't adequately convey just how weird this landscape was. It was VERY recently burned. The forest floor wasn't still burning, but some old trees and stumps were. Whatever method they used to set and control these burns left the trail untouched!!
