It takes a lot of patience to capture sky pics. I used to sit for an hour almost every evening hoping for a great time-lapse sunset. You never know if it'll turn out cool until you've spent the time.
Exactly! I've spent several hours in the evening cold and rain, just hoping that the weather would clear enough for some sunbeams through the clouds. I'm fortunate enough to work outside and get to see the sunrise most mornings. But, I go on my backpacking trips when my schedule allows, regardless of the forecast. I hope for the best, but then work to make the best of the conditions that I find. Sounds like you understand!
