Erik, enjoyed this a lot. When we lived in southern California we would take a road trip each fall to Julian and pick apples, eat pie, and just enjoy being in nature. On the home front, I can empathize. My son is a junior in college and it is just me, my wife, and our daughter at home for the past three years. You would think I would be adjusted by now but it still feels raw. We love when he gets to come home, especially since his college is six hours away. Thanks for sharing this morning.

I’m glad it resonated! It is so important to be able to spend these moments together. Sounds like you guys had a very similar experience. Thanks for reading!

It’s all so true! Thanks for advocating! 🩶 I noticed the other day that Trader Joe’s sells real organic apples from local orchards and it made me happy! I’ve been to orchards and it had made me happy too! But they are really far away from me…

That’s great! If you can’t get to an orchard, look around for farmers’ collectives. I’ve seen some where you can order from various farms on line and have it delivered to a pickup location.

Great article, a reminder to think about where our food comes from. And that organic from the supermarket doesn’t mean unmodified.

A great read Erik and a reminder of what is important in life. Not just where our food comes from but taking time out to appreciate nature and family.

I love these apples 🍎

This was a nice twist on Field Notes today and looks like a fun activity!

Of course there are no orchards anywhere near me but the farmers markets will suffice. I love buying as local as I can.

Great pics Erik, and awesome family 😊
