I loooove the start of this series!! My favorite paragraph is the one beginning with "Traffic is friendly chaos." Brings back so many fond memories of driving in the Caribbean. It really is a whole different universe lol.
This post is nostalgic...different country but similar vibes.
It's interesting as a native Latin American to read foreigners impressed and fascinated about stuff we take for granted here, both good and bad. Lovely cultural interchange. Great read, looking forward to the next chapters!
Yeah, I think principally because America and many aspects of modern countries have become so utterly dehumanizing in so many ways, we need to go to places like the Latin world to remember how to be a human being again, no joke.
Thank you for taking me on the journey with you Erik. I look forward to reading about the rest of the adventure!
Thanks for reading! The next one in the series should have some more interesting photos!

I thought it might have a familiarity with Jamaica! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Going back over these notes and photos is a fun re-visit for me, too!

Thank you! This gets to the essence of exploration and adventure- seeing with wonder and appreciation. It comes naturally in unfamiliar settings!

The people I met there were all very humble, gracious, and welcoming!
A good beginning! I just wrote a longish entry about Mexico City, I’d be curious about your impressions.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
Great story Erik - I am looking forward to the next installment.
Thanks! Maybe in a few weeks. Hopefully the photos will be more compelling!
